SELEX Galileo is a world leader in the development of high performance electro-optic equipment and systems.  The Centre of Excellence in Florence designs and manufactures electro-optic equipment and systems for naval, land, airborne and space application.  The high level of vertical integration provided by the in-house capabilities and the close relations with the other SELEX Galileo Centres of Excellence, allow us to provide equipment with the top level performance together with complete lifecycle support.
 
We offer a range of standard products including thermal imagers (state-of-the-art third generation cooled and uncooled  products), TV spotter, hyperspectral systems, electro-optic systems (stabilised systems for surveillance, fire control systems), attitude sensors (Earth, Sun, Stars Sensors for the orientation and navigation of satellites).
 
We have the capability to develop custom products according to customer requirements, such as instruments for Science and Earth Observation (Optical Spectrometers & Cameras, Laser Equipment).
 
In addition, Florence is the optic manufacturing Centre of Excellence (Optic COE) for the entire Finmeccanica Group, due to the ability to control the whole process from design to the completion of each component.
 
With heritage in a highly skilled workforce and access to the right production equipment, the development of advanced technology and complex components with such challenging requirements, often which are not compatible with mass production, has been made possible.
