History
HistorySELEX Galileo Inc., formerly SELEX Sensors & Airborne Systems Inc., formed in late 2004 with a small core team of three and is incorporated in Delaware. In the last four years, the Company grew exponentially, creating a network spanning the United States. Today SELEX Galileo Inc. counts over 200 employees and seven facilities. The Company first opened its doors in 2005 in Arlington, VA, in an office across from the Pentagon. The Arlington office is the focal point for activities relating to group Strategy, Security and Compliance, Engineering, Contracts, and Communications and Marketing. In 2006, the Procurement Office in Atlanta was acquired from BAE Systems and continued to support the parent SELEX Galileo operations in Europe in the provision of Procurement, Quality Control, Export Compliance and administration services largely handling goods controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). That same year, the New York field office joined the team devoted to RADAR, business development, and advanced targeting systems. In 2007, the Atlanta team moved into a new 20,000 square foot facility. Today this group includes Supply Chain Management Services (SCMS). Other functions include Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology. In 2008, the Company acquired a facility in Stennis, MS, which later became our center for aircraft integration and modification activities. That same year the Company also expanded in Huntsville, AL, to include a 27,000 square foot facility equipped with seven clean rooms and two Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) labs. The Huntsville site carries out laser production and support as well as engineering and systems integration activities. SELEX Galileo Inc. has a compliant quality management system registered to ISO9001:2008 through Bureau Veritas. This means that the Company operates within international management and business practice standards. SELEX Galileo Inc. holds product repair and maintenance facilities on the United States Air Force base at Hurlburt Field, FL, and in Warner Robins, GA. In Hurlburt Field, SELEX Galileo Inc specializes in the ALLTV repair program for the USAF. In Warner Robins, SELEX Galileo Inc. carries out repair, maintenance and support for the IRCM/LAIRCM program. 2010 was a transformative year for the Company. In January, the Company name changed to SELEX Galileo Inc. to reflect the new brand. In March, SELEX Galileo Inc. welcomed a new President & CEO, Giles Kyser. And later in March, SELEX Galileo Inc. closed on the acquisition of laser diode manufacturer Lasertel, bringing the total US footprint to seven operational facilities. |
